About Me

Hello! My name is Nathan Sauter, and I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in Utah.

I am here to help people who have been living with heartache and pain find hope and healing. I want to help you feel empowered to experience compassionate connections, both with yourself and others, to help you in your healing journey.

In particular, I have a soft heart for those that have experienced trauma, feeling as if they are alone and unable to share their experiences; people struggling with eating disorders, stuck in unhealthy relationships with their body and with food; those burdened by depression, feeling as if they are unable to break the downward cycle they are stuck in; those experiencing anxiety, feeling as if they are overwhelmed and paralyzed by the worry and stress they feel.

My desire to help others in their healing journey developed from my own experience of telling myself that what I went through "wasn't that bad," or that others had experienced so much worse than myself. I remember trying to "just get over it" or ignore it, which often led to either distancing myself from those around me, or feeling like I was distanced from them. The negative self-talk and all those difficult emotions became more difficult to handle when alone. It's as I started to close that gap between myself and others, that I learned that hope and healing can happen, and it often happens together.

I consider myself very fortunate to share in this experience with others. While I know that none of our experiences are the same, nor are our journeys through these struggles the same, I place high value on having someone alongside to share in parts of that journey.

There is no shame in what happened to you. You are not alone in the struggles that weigh you down. Hope and healing can be found. As humans, we are in a constant state of change, even when feeling stuck or alone. We are constantly in the process of developing who we are, and who we want to be as a person. I want to help you in that process. I want to help you be more accepting and compassionate toward yourself for being what we all are: a work in progress.
